We now offer FREE MICROCHIPS to our patients. This is Dr Sutton’s gift to her clients. We live in hurricane country and she wants all if her patients to have a chip. Call for details.
Dr Sutton is very proud of Tequesta Veterinary Clinic. She has been practicing veterinary medicine for 22 years. After all these years, she still adores her career. She has long thought that she is the happiest veterinarian she knows. She spent her first 8 years as an emergency/critical care vet. She then went into general practice and has cummulatively spent 2 years of her career in various undeveloped countries volunteering her services for less fortunate animals around the globe. After 17 years of practice in Portland, Oregon, she moved to sunny Florida in 2010.
CLINIC HOURS: We open our doors each weekday at 9am. Dr sutton often gets to work by 8am. Examinations are by appointment. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO COME IN DURING REGULAR HOURS, DR SUTTON IS WILLING TO MEET CLIENTS AT THE CLINIC AT 8AM IF NEEDED–BY APPOINTMENT. If there is a “walk in” we will try our best to accommodate you, but scheduled exams take priority (unless it is a true emergency). It is best to call us for an appointment! We are closed on the weekends for our staff to spend quality time with family and loved ones. If there is a hospitalized pet over the weekend, Dr Sutton will usually be glad continue to care for the pet over the weekend unless it necessitates referral to a critical care facility. There are several excellent emergency clinics nearby in case of emergencies.
Mondays through Friday: 9am – 5:00
(Note: in the late afternoon if we have no appointments scheduled we may close up shop early to spend time with our families and loved ones.)

Dr Sutton is also the Staff Veterinarian for American Diabetes Wholesale. She writes educational articles regarding pet diabetes and helps the clientele in any manner possible. She has long enjoyed the educational aspect of veterinary medicine and loves to teach. The folks at AmericanDiabetesWholesale.com emphasize education for their human and pet diabetic clients. Dr Sutton is amongst nurses, doctors, and nutritionists teaching about diabetes. It is a great pairing. Her newsletters can be found in the archives of www.DestinationDiabetes.com under the newsletters tab. She has been part of the ADW team since 2011.
Dr Sutton wants this website to be a resource for her clients. Please take some time and click on the “Client Education” tab under the “About us” tab on the top row. You will find some wonderful client educational opportunities. Unfortunately, you can find all kinds of misinformation on the internet. The websites she has listed here are peer-reviewed websites written by veterinarians on a plethora of topics.
Dr Sutton wants you be involved in your pet’s vaccination choices! Surprisingly, some local clinics still vaccinate for everything every year. Dr Sutton follows vaccine protocols set forth by the American Animal Hospital Association and the American Association of Feline Practioners. If your pet’s lifestyle doesn’t warrant a vaccine, we won’t give it. Please visit the “Vaccination Information” section before your appointment.
BEFORE CHECKING ONLINE AT ANY WEBSITE, CHECK THE PHARMACY PRICES A TEQUESTA VET CLINIC. THERE IS A STRONG LIKELIHOOD THAT DR SUTTON’S PRICES MAY BE LESS THAN AN ONLINE PHARMACY AS THERE IS NO COST FOR SHIPPING IF YOU PICK IT UP AT THE CLINIC. DR SUTTON STRIVES TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE MEDICATIONS. SHE ADAMANTLY KEEPS THE COST OF ARTHRITIS MEDS AFFORDABLE. SHE CARRIES THE GENERICS OF RIMADYL AND METACAM.
Dr Sutton carries a well-stocked pharmacy, including a variety of heartworm and flea products. However, it would be nearly impossible for a veterinarian to carry the multitude of various heartworm and flea med options available in a variety of sizes without products going expired. Please note that Vetsource (who manages this website) offers extremely competitive pricing on many of these medications. Please review the costs of your heartworm and flea and arthritis meds on this website before searching PetMeds.com. The chances are good that we are less than Pet Meds! This also offers you a greater variety of medications than any one clinic can carry on the shelf. Of course, Dr Sutton has chosen her favorites for the pharmacy she carries in house. We carry Royal Canin veterinary diets as they do 60 percent of the veterinary nutritional research worldwide and score high in palatability tests. However, if your pet is on a prescription Science Diet or Purina formula, we can provide that as well.
Do also note that this website offers Pill Pockets and CET chews and omega 3 fatty acids (such as Welactin) at very reasonable prices. For our snowbird clients, this website is very handy. You can either make orders online OR you can call in your orders. The folks at Vetsource are helpful and kind. It matters to Dr Sutton that her clients get good pricing on commonly used meds and treats. Please take a look around the Home Delivery page. YOU CAN ALSO ORDER PET FOOD (from Royal Canin, Hill’s Science Diet and Purina Veterinary lines) on this website and HAVE IT DELIVERED DIRECTLY TO YOUR HOME! that’s very cool. If you need help setting up an account, Dr Sutton and her staff are happy to help you. If you make an order through this website, the medication or product will ship directly to your home. When you make an order, Dr Sutton is alerted by an app on her cell phone and she can authorize the medication much faster than if you use a different online pharmacy. For folks weary of online ordering, orders can also be made by calling Vetsource at (503) 802-7400. Again, this home delivery option is extremely useful for our snowbird clients who escape the Florida heat during the summertime.
